Global warming is the potential rise in temperatures world-wide. If you want a quick answer, think about temperatures the way they are now on a yearly basis. I just saw the weather forecast for today, my area in the deep south is supposed to be around 101 degrees Fahrenheit! With global warming, that temperature will continue to climb. My air conditioner cuts on about 8 to 9 in the morning, runs all day and into the night, and struggles to maintain an internal temperature of about 80 degrees. We haven't had rain for about two weeks, the grass is starting to turn brown. The Mississippi River is at an almost all-time low, to the point it is affecting river traffic. In an inner-city like Los Angeles, water needs would spike immediately. The lack of green space would accentuate temperatures. It would be reasonable to expect an increase in heat-related illnesses and crime. Any way you slice it, yes, we could continue to survive, but at a much higher cost.
