Peter' Hatcher's mother's name is Anne. Judy Blume does not actually mention this in Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing itself, but in some of Blume's other books in the "Fudge series," some of the other characters refer to her by her first name.  In Double Fudge, for example, a number of characters, including Peter's father, Grandma, and the family's cousin Eudora, refer to her by her first name. Obviously, she is significant to the storyline as "Mom," and that is what Peter and Fudge (whose real name is Farley Drexel Hatcher) call her.
