What New Deal programs are still in effect or exsist in 2010 or 2011?
Some of the New Deal programs that are still around today include some very important ones. The most important of these is Social Security. This was created during the New Deal to help ensure that retirees would have some money to live on. It has been expanded massively and is a major issue in American politics today.
The FDIC is another thing that was created in the New Deal. It is not at all controversial today, but it still exists.
A third New Deal program that still exists today is the Tennessee Valley Authority. The TVA continues to administer things like dams in the Southeast.
