A work-flow analysis is a review of an organizational processes geared towards making them more efficient and streamlined. A work-flow analysis identifies bottlenecks, inefficiencies and faults in an organizations business process and makes or suggests improvements to it. The process of a work-flow analysis goes through the following stages:
- Establishing desired goal and purpose for the analysis
- Documenting the current work-flow and processes
- Making or recommending changes to inefficient parts of the process
- Implementing the new process
There are many tools, techniques and methodologies that could be used to perform a work-flow analysis. The selection of a specific method will depend on the type or organization and process being analyzed.
