According to the United States Census Bureau, the median household income for Santa Clara county in the state of California, for the duration of 2009-2013, was $ 91,702. In comparison, the state of California had a median household income of $61,094. This clearly shows the effect of concentration of technology sector workers in this area. Apart from Intel and a large number of other companies and startups in the county, Santa Clara is also conveniently located close to San Francisco. This allows for concentration of families with tech sector employment and/or two-incomes (both the partners are working). The per capita income in the year 2013 ($ 41,513) was also much more than that of the entire state ($ 29,527).
