There have been many major art movements throughout history. Some are more recognizable to the average person than others (such as the High Renaissance as opposed to Neoclassicism), however, all are important to human history and show not only development, but the similarities between the people of the past and the present. • Indian, Chinese, & Japanese - 653 BC to AD 1900
  • Byzantine & Islamic - AD 476 to AD 1453
  • Middle Ages - 500 to 1400
