What are the major motivations of those who commit cybercrime?
The ability to remain anonymous is perhaps the major motivation behind cybercrime, beyond this what drives people to commit cybercrime. I am looking for insight into other major motivating factors besides the ability to remain anonymous.

In all manner of crime, criminals are motivated by the prospect of getting something for nothing, or in a word, theft.
For a criminal, rather than earning, stealing is considered an appropriate means to garner wealth. Certainly the anonymity of theft over the Internet presents a thief with the perceived added advantage of not being discovered, but that advantage has been diminishing as more and more on-line activity is monitored.
Whether confiscating someone's identity and making fraudulent purchases in cyberspace, or sticking up a bank in real space, the motivation of theft is the same. The motivation has not changed; only the method.
