The main physical features of the United States include the Atlantic Ocean on the east coast and the Pacific Ocean on the west coast. There is also the Appalachian mountain range, which acts as a natural boundary that separates the low-lying alluvial plains of eastern Virginia and the lowlands of North America. The Great Plains of the central United States includes the Badlands of Dakota and the mesas of Texas. Other notable physical features are mountains: for example, mount Whitney in California, mount McKinley in Alaska, and Mauna Kea in Hawaii. There is also Copper River Valley in Alaska and the amazing fall foliage in Vermont. However, this list cannot be complete without mentioning the Grand Canyon, one of the most well-known physical features of the United States.

The United States has several main physical features. One of these features is the major rivers we have in our country.  The main rivers in the United States are the Mississippi River, Ohio River, Missouri River, Colorado River, and the Columbia River.  These rivers are important for trade, transportation, and a source of water.

Another main feature is the mountains we have in our country.  The Rocky Mountains is a major chain.  Other mountain ranges include the Appalachian Mountains, the Sierra Nevada Mountains, and the Cascade Mountains.

We also have deserts and plains. The Mojave Desert is found in the western part of the country.  The Great Plains is in the central part of the United States.

Finally, there are many lakes in the United States. We have five major Great Lakes and thousands of smaller lakes.
