I work as a seller in a large auto dealership. My boss wants me to include this report in my presentation. The report is "what women want when buying a new car" written in 1974.

I'm going to assume your boss earned his (or her?) title and understands that such a statement from so long ago would have no relevance in today's market. The most obvious issue is that whatever information is contained in that report is hopelessly out of date.

My guess is that boss wanted you to examine the report and take it within its historical context.  Although the question asked, "What women want when buying a new car?" should and can be answered for today, the answer you would get today would be quite different than what you would have gotten back in 1974.

It would be an interesting contrast to ask that same question of women today, and include the answers of both reports in your presentation.

"You've come a long way, baby?"  Maybe....
