This short story by Raymond Carver appeared in his collection What We Talk About When We Talk About Love with the title "Popular Mechanics," and later in the collection Where I'm Calling From: New and Selected Stories with the title "Little Things." It tells of an unnamed couple with a baby who are splitting up. Carver doesn't specifically say that they are married, but from the context readers assume that they are. The man is packing his suitcase, and the woman shouts that she is glad he is leaving. She grabs a picture of the baby off of the bed and exits the room.
