The house serves to provide friendly reminders that mirror the family's movements throughout the day. First, it provides a welcoming invitation to rise from bed at 7 a.m. A few moments later, it calls the family to breakfast and prepares it for them. Presumably as the family would be gathering for breakfast, the house reminds them of the date and significant information regarding the date: birthdays, anniversaries, and bills that are due.

At just after 8 a.m., the house attempts to scurry schoolchildren out the door and provides a weather update for the family's needs. It prepares for the residents to leave in a car by lifting the garage door. At 8:30, the uneaten breakfast is cleaned away and the dirty dishes are cleared. At 9:15, the house begins cleaning itself by sending out a small army of "robot mice" to rid itself of all dust and debris. At 10:15, the house turns on the outside sprinklers to keep the grass pristine.
