The role of the director in a movie is very important for many reasons. Let me offer a few of them.

  • One of the most important actions that a director does is make the final decision on actors. As you can imagine this alone is a very important role. ┬áThis can make or break a movie.
  • The director also sets the mood and puts into actions all the part of a film. For example, of the many thousands of hours that are filmed, the director picks what he or she thinks is best and then puts it into the film.
  • The director also plays with time. How long a scene is and the sequence of the scenes are all up to the director. It is his or her creative genius at work.

The above three are some of the roles that a director plays. For these reasons, we can say that the most important role in a movie is played by the director.
