As for what might have happened if Juliet had been honest with her parents about Romeo right from the start, that is up to individual readers. I wish I could say that the story would have ended happily ever after. Lady Capulet and her husband would have been incredibly happy that their daughter had found love, they would have realized that the feud was stupid, and the play would have ended with a beautiful wedding that brought all parties to a state of happiness. That could have happened; however, I just don't think it is a reality. Both of Juliet's parents want what is best for Juliet. In their minds, that is a husband that is financially stable and already liked by the family. That man is Paris. He is capable of taking care of Juliet, he's interested in marrying Juliet, and the union would not cause any strife or conflict like a union with Romeo would. I firmly believe that the Capulets would have figured out a way to forbid their daughter from seeing Romeo. They could have done something as simple as leave the city for awhile. They are financially wealthy enough to do such a thing. Knowing Romeo is a Petrarchan lover, I don't even feel bad for Romeo. Not seeing Juliet for a day or two would be enough for him to move on to some other girl. It's what he did with Rosaline. Both Juliet and Romeo would then live happily ever after, being married to someone else.
