Albert Bandura (1925- ) is a Canadian psychologist famed for his Social Learning Theory (1977), a groundsbreaking book that in the field of psychology. Bandura was born in Mundare, Alberta and graduated from the University of British Columbia, receiving his M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of Iowa. After becoming an academic advisor at Iowa, he became a teacher at Stanford University, where he has taught since 1953. He was president of the American Psychological Association in 1974. His research includes investigative breakthroughs in phobic disorders and a widely-accepted new view in social cognitive theory.
