Practically everything about the world has changed since George Washington’s time.  Let us look at a few of the most important changes.

  • Women and racial minorities have rights.  In Washington’s time, slavery existed and women had very few rights.
  • The United States is a huge country and a world power.  In Washington’s time, the US was a small country and was quite weak.
  • Technology has advanced.  In Washington’s time there were no cars (trains barely existed), no airplanes, no telephones, no typewriters, let alone computers, and no way of recording and replaying music.

Of course, there are many other changes, but these are some of the most important.
