What happened that was a total betrayal to homer?

I would say that greater clarification is needed in such a question.  I think that one such betrayal would have been Homer's dad not being as supportive of his endeavors as he was of Jim's pursuit of football.  Homer's father was zealous about Jim pursuing his dream, but presented apathy, at best, and at its worst, inertia to Homer's pursuit.  I think that this could be considered a betrayal to Homer.  At the same time, I would say that the moments when Homer, himself, had to work in the mine and not be able to pursue his own dream because of material reality could be considered another moment where there was betrayal present for Homer.
