Auk22d had a couple of important changes that Homer put in in order to keep the rocket from wobbling as it reached higher into the sky and ran into the very heavy winds.  He had shortened and changed the shape of the fins in order to help stabilize it.  What he didn't know was that the boys had been angling the launch into the wind slightly in order to counteract some of the effects of the wind.  They really saw the wind whipping away this time so they angled it more, and the rocket flew off the pad and far from the launch pad.

The boys chased it in the car, and it eventually landed near Little Richard's church, thankfully not hurting anyone.  Unfortunately Mr. Fuller decided he'd had enough and he banned the boys from using Cape Coalwood.  Of course, this ended up having the opposite effect once Mr. Fuller and Homer's dad had it out.
