One quote from Anne truly speaks to one of the greater truths that can be learned from her story:

In spite of everything I still believe that people are really good at heart.

Anne's story is a tragic one, one that shows humanity at its absolute worst, but Anne's diary also offers readers a glimpse of the best humanity has to offer as well.  The strength and courage of her mother and father, the unlooked for kindness from strangers, the sacrifices and daily risks taken by Miep and Mr. Kraler all suggest the very best of the human spirit, reminding readers of the importance of love, kindness, and justice.
