What is a good idea to write about in an epilogue?

An epilogue is an afterward that usually tells what happens to important characters.  Possible content for an epilogue is to tell where the characters went next, who married whom, and generally how their lives turn out after the pages of the book.  Since this story is mostly about Kit Tyler, you might write about what happens to her after the end of the book.  Does Nat propose?  Does Kit accept?  Will she live her life as a captain's wife on shore, or spend some time on the ship?  Since we know that nothing Kit does is orthodox and common, you might decide she never marries, or that she never has children.  She might join him as an equal partner and live aboard.  It's up to you!
