About which event in the novel Animal Farm could I write a newspaper article?
We have to write a newspaper article on an event from Animal Farm and we have to write as though it has just happened. Any idea would be greatly appreciated.
While it would be worthwhile to write a newspaper article on the Battle of the Cow-shed and its outcome, or on the conflict between Napoleon and Snowball and the resulting construction of the windill, perhaps an article that covers the final events may prove more original..
Keeping in mind that newspaper articles are written in an inverted pyramid form in which the most important ideas are put first with lesser and more specific details or background information following, the article could start with a headline that is something like this:
Controversy at Manor Farm
Then, a lead line which is meant to grab the reader and direct the reader to the important facts is written. (Remember to use the 5Ws and Why). For example,
Witnesses report that men and pigs at Manor Farm, until recently known as Animal Farm, were observed to have a strange resemblance to each other. Reports that the pigs had been sleeping in the house of former owner, Mr. Jones, as well as drinking beer have been circulating throughout the region.
Details then can follow, such as:
When interviewed by reporters, an old cart-house named Clover, stated that "something strange happened." Further, Clover related events that have led to the creation of Animal Farm, and the changing of the Rules of Animal Farm which had discouraged any fraternization with humans. (You can develop this report with details that describe which have occurred on this farm.)
After this you may wish to make reference to the alteration of the Commandments, and other conflicts that have caused dissension among the animals.
Maybe you could try writing an article about the slaugter of the animals; the hens' eggs and the animals who have been forced to confess that they were supposedly on Snowball's side all along. Another event you could do it on is the breaking of the commandments, or how the pigs slowly rose to power, while the other animals became unhappy. Another important event is the first tradings and communications with the other farmers and humans. Lastly, an easy event to do would be Old Major's speech at the beginning, his revolutionary dream and then his expected death.
List of some more ideas:

The Battle of the Cowshed
The Destruction of the Windmill (storm)
