Cormorants are sea birds. There are many different species of cormorants ranging in size from small to very large, and they are found in many parts of the world. They are typically black with some white markings. They are noted for their exceptional diviing ability in catching fish. In fact, trained cormorants are used in some places to catch fish for humans. Their owners have a cord attached to their necks to prevent them from flying away, and typically there is a ring around their necks to keep them from swallowing the fish they catch.
