What do you think that Hannah/Chaya looks like in the beginning of the book before and after she is gone through time?

Also what do you think she looks like at the camps before and at the time she sacrifices her life? Thank you so much!!!! : )

I like to picture Hannah as your average American teenage girl.  She stays up with the current trends and styles.  She has a fashionable haircut and pays attention to clothing.  I wouldn't picture her as overly materialistic, just a young girl who would rather blend in with the masses than stand out due to her culture or looks.

As Chaya, you need to picture someone who has been through the camps.  Chaya is thinner.  Much thinner.  Her face is now gaunt and the healthy roundness to her body is gone.  Her ill-fitting clothes hang loosely on her body.  She is pale.  I picture dark circles beneath her eyes due to lack of sleep and malnutrition.  Her hair has been shaved down in a crude uneven buzz-cut.  Her hands will be red and chapped.  There will be bleeding blisters from the hard labor.

I also see Chaya's eyes.  Always lively and full of thought, but they will flash with determination when she marches to her death.  Chaya will never allow her spark to fade.

I hope this helps!
