I think a rap furniture ad would not be an effective way to advertise furniture. Rap itself has had somewhat of a negative connotation. When rap first began in the 1980s, the image was different. The artists told stories with their lyrics. Today, rap is full of explicit language, violence, and derogatory references to women. If a rap were used to sale furniture, it would appeal to the "pants-sagging" generation instead of the larger populous. To be honest I think it would also have a stereotypical tone of appealing to a specific race or ethnicity because that is what is typically associated with rap. Not to mention the age factor as well. Most people that listen to rap are young, school age kids. Are these the kinds of people who are really going to buy furniture? I think not!
