Medical interventions can make us live longer when the quality of life is really not that good. For example, keeping a person alive in a coma with feeding tubes and ventilators really only helps the person’s loved ones.
I would say that the advantage, to medical interventions, is getting better. Outside of that, the disadvantage is that there can be consequences to seeking medical interventions. One could become sicker, infections could erupt, and one could be diagnosed incorrectly.
