What dirty trick did Mr. Specncer pull on Holden in "The Catcher in the Rye"?

Holden wrote a note to Mr. Spencer at the end of the test because he knew that he was not a good writer, and that way maybe Mr. Spencer would feel sorry for him and wouldn't flunk him. After all, Holden had been to nearly 4 schools already.  After he and Mr. Spencer met to discuss this, Holden was under the assumption that maybe the teacher would have taken into consideration what the note said. However, Mr. Spencer went and made Holden read his test including the note that he had written to Mr. Spencer. This is what Holden categorized as a "dirty trick" for now all was exposed and didn't go as he planned.
