Weak studying is reading and highlighting as you go and thinking that you're done. That's just the first step. Depending on your reading comprehension and retention skills, most students need to read the chapter at least twice just to understand what the purpose is. It also depends on the task that you must accomplish. If you must learn vocabularly words memorization of definitions and spelling is important; but don't think that's all you need to do. Get a partner and have him or her seriously quiz you and not let you stop until you don't need any hints any more. When a partner can quiz you on anything under the topic and you don't flinch when you are asked, but you just answer automatically, then you're ready. The trick is finding the time to pay the amount of attention you need in order to be fully and completely ready for the assessment. Study smart, not hard. Do the activities that will help you to accomplish the task with the best management of time while also considering your learning strengths and weaknesses. Be honest with yourself and don't cut corners; and, whenyou do feel confident, it's ok to feel the success of that accomplishment. Be humble, but also reward yourself for your efforts.
