WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN DEMENTIA AND ALZHEIMERS DISEASE?
The two diseases are quite similar. The relationship between Alzheimer's disease and dementia is that Alzheimer's disease is one possible cause of dementia. Because of this causal relationship it is quite common for the two conditions to be confused as the same.

Some authorities argue that the only true way to distinguish the two is at autopsy. The brains of Alzheimer's patients have anatomical and chemical variations ( high levels of aluminum ), that is not seen with demented patients.
