I found it particularly annoying to know that the man's name is Poe from fairly early on, yet he continues the charade for an apparent lark--or great vanity. Probably both.
Only you can answer this question because only you know how you feel about this book. Try thinking about which character you can identify with or relate to. Then figure out what it is about that character that makes you like him or her. The same thing goes for characters you may have disliked.
It is not helpful to just say you disliked the whole story, even though you may have. Try to find one or more reasons why the story either had no appeal to you or was very interesting to you. I'm not a fan of Poe's stories, but I can recognize that he was an inventive writer. So I would focus on how he has influenced later writers if I had to say something positive.
