What is the difference between a satire and a farce?

Satire is more intellectual humor, more sarcastic, while a farce is more slap-slip, ridiculous or absurd.  A satirical perspective is more humorous with perhaps a degree of cynicism thrown in.  Farce is more exaggerated, more slap slick.  Think Marx Brothers or Three Stooges.  Satire can be more undertone while farce is more outlandish.
