I would suggest that if you have time, you should check out a film entitled The Hospital. It was written by Paddy Chayevsky and is a product of the 1970s, but it really speaks well to what happens where there is miscommunication in a medical organization or office. Any place where health care is administered has to ensure that there is clear and effective communication. If there is poor communication between doctor and patient, neither side will understand one another's attempt to receive proper medical care and administer it. If there is poor communication between nurses and doctors, ineffective or dangerous steps regarding a patient's condition will be missed or exacerbated. Ineffective communication regarding health costs and payment can be extremely complicated. Poor communication between medical suppliers and pharmaceutical companies can result in the wrong items being shipped and distributed in inappropriate situations. In a realm where clear communication is needed on so many levels, poor communication skills in a medical office or medical setting can result in inefficiency or lethal realities.
