There are a large number of compounds that are used in our lives that contain hydrogen. The most common one is, obviously, water. It is a compound of hydrogen and oxygen and has a chemical formula of H2O. It is used for drinking, cooking, bathing, cleaning, flushing, and a large number of other applications everyday. The sugars, such as sucrose (C12H22O11), contain hydrogen. All alcohols, including ethanol (C2H5OH), contain hydrogen. All cooking oils also contain hydrogen. Fuels, such as petrol (or gasoline), diesel, kerosene, etc., all contain hydrogen. The proteins that are so essential to our lives are also hydrogen compounds. Methane (CH4) gas is generated from anaerobic digestion and is used for cooking or electricity generation. Baking powder (NaHCO3), lubricants, vitamins, etc., all contain hydrogen.
Hope this helps.
