Both poems make extensive use of references to nature and its impacts upon the one listening to the poem. The whole of creation is included in the encouragement to pay heed "to sky, to earth, to sun, to moon" and to value the wisdom that can be learned from these things.
Eagle Poem uses the image of the circle as a reference to the connections and recurrence of life events among all living things - the "true circle of motion" like the eagle in flight.
Remember uses repetition to emphasize the cycle, the events that mark every life's progress and that provide a foundation for living. Sky, moon, sun, earth, plants and animals, wind - "Remember that you are this universe and this universe is you." Remember incorporates more memories of human encounters and experiences into the body of experiences to be drawn upon by the listener, but still emphasizes the universality of life as being the most important reference point in remembering ones identity.
