What comes after the exposition and what is exposition?
The exposition of any story is an introduction to the main characters and situations of the plot. In "The Slave Dancer" the exposition would be at the beginning of the story when we meet Jessie, his sister, and his mother. We learn about his Aunt Agatha. He is kidnapped and we meet Purvis and the other sailors from the slave ship The Moonlight. This leads into the rising action, and the rest of the novel incuding the conflict, climax, resolution and the end of the story.
Exposition is the beginning of the story. It introduces the reader to the setting, characters, and central conflict of the story. After the exposition comes the rising action, the climax, the falling action, and the resolution. the exposition lets the reader have a better understanding of what will happen next.
An exposition is basically an intro in the story and tells about the setting, characters, time, date, place, and more items along that line that gives us a brief overview on either the story or what's happened. After the exposition comes the conflict which can be internal or external. An internal conflict is a conflict within one person. An external conflict is when the conflict is within 2 or more people.
The exposition is the beginning part of a story. It is where we meet the characters, find out the setting, and get the background about the story line. It is the material that sets up whatever will be the central conflict in a story.
After the exposition, you have a rising action. After that comes the climax, falling action, and then resolution.
Hope this helps!
