How can understanding Iran's population pyramid help the US work better with Iran as it is now named "axis of evil?"

I think that in understanding the Iranian population dynamics, one has to first shed the label of "the axis of evil."  It simply does not fully account for the nuances and the intricacies of the challenges in Iran.  Assessing the population pyramid in Iran shows a strong number of youth in Iran.  This must be where any policy and orientation is geared.  The youth in Iran are critically important.  We saw this a summer ago when young people were politically active in protesting the results of the presidential election, taking to facebook and Twitter to voice their discontent with the results and give eyewitness accounts of government repression.  With Iranian youth, such a reality reflects their technology savvy as well as their education level.  In general, population pyramid models reflect high levels of unemployment in young people in the Middle East.  This would give three distinct dynamics that have to be integrated into a successful approach in understanding Iranian youth.  There are many of them, they understand technology, and they might be suffering from economic challenges such as unemployment.  It would be on these fronts that a pyramid population approach might help the US better understand how to deal with Iran and move from the demonizing label of "axis of evil."
