There are many things that a company can do to help a person in a new job. In light of this, let me name a few of them.

Second, a company should also have a handbook of company policies. More importantly, a company should make sure that people are aware of these policies. Having something written and accessible is very important and can help new employees tremendously.
Third, a company should also check up on their new employees to make sure that all is well. Even if this is done informally, it can help a new person in important ways. There should also be some sort of mentoring program in place. This is probably be the single most important point, because people learn the most on the job. For all of these reasons, a good human resource department is key.
