At its base, Biology is the study of life—how it is constructed, how it grows, how it reproduces, how it dies, how it works. As opposed to Botany (the study of plants) or Physiology (the study of animals), Biology makes sense of all life—the absolute fact of what we mean by “life.” It separates apart from other sciences—chemistry, physics, geology, etc.—in these factors: 1. The transfer of energy from chemical or physical form into physical growth itself, into mass, in the form of cells, organs, etc.; 2. The transference of “fuel” into mass, waste, and movement; 3. (Perhaps the distinguishing factor) reproduction—the continuation of the species by the creation of “offspring”—seeds, embryos, eggs, etc.–the self-replication of the object. Some nonorganic candidates for these traits are fire (does it transform fuel? Yes—does it reproduce? Sort of. Does it consume and leave waste? Yes.) What about railroad steam engines? Do they burn fuel? Yes. Do they transfer energy into movement? Yes. Do they reproduce? No-one has ever run that experiment, but presumably not. Biology is important as a basis for all study of life, for study of chemical/energy interactions, and for the way a living organism uses its “life” to be mobile (a vine, a butterfly, or an athlete share this feature, mobility). When we say rocks or the ocean or the sky is “alive, we are using the term metaphorically but we are also showing how important biology is to understanding the forces of our physical world.

so to be a healthy person and to live according to nature without harming nature and without changing equlibrium of nature we have to be thorogh about our world. so study of biology is important.
it helps to understand our selves and we realize how great GOD is.
