Adichie says men do three things to perpetuate gender issues. The first issue stems from the fact that most men never think and or have to think about gender. Because of their superior status, they never have to think about how they are perceived. Secondly, they do nothing to change the issues with gender. Most men aren't actively fighting against the oppressive systems and working to dismantle it, even in a minute moment of seeing the oppression in the workplace or on the street.
