Queueing techniques are strategies and interventions used to analyze situations that occur during a queue, which is the British term for a waiting line.

There is much to be acquired from queueing theory. It is an actual mathematical system based on trends, patterns, and estimates that is used to predict situations that may happen while waiting in line. Queueing theory is specifically useful for businesses, providing them with alternatives to queues that aim to retain customers and clients.

Through queueing theory, it can be predicted how long lines are expected to last, how much time would be required to dissipate specific waiting lines, and what can be done to avoid them altogether.
