What is `2^8?`

An exponent represents the number of times the base is to be multiplied by itself.

`2^8 = 2*2*2*2*2*2*2*2`

Since 2 x 2 = 4, there are 4 pairs of 2x2

`2^8 = 4^4`

`4^4 = 4*4*4*4`

Since 4 x 4 = 16, there are 2 pairs of 4x4

`2^8 = 4^4 = 16^2`

`16^2 = 16*16`

`2^8 = 4^4 = 16^2 = 256`

The solution is `2^8 = 256.`

The value of 2 raised to the 8th power has to be determined.

`2^8 = (2^2)^4 = 4^4 = (4^2)^2 = 16^2 = 256`

2 raised to the 8th power is 256

2^8 = 16^2 = 256.

2 to the power of 8 is therefore 256.

2 raised to the 8th power?

Power is the multiplicative property of a number, it is one which shows that how many times a number is to be multiplied by itself, i.e when it is 2^2 then 2 will multiplied by itself once i.e 2*2, when it is 2^5 then 2 will be multiplied by itself 4 times, i.e. 2*2*2*2*2, similarly when it 2^8 then the number 2 will be multiplied by itself 7 times, i.e. 2*2*2*2*2*2*2*2, the answer to which is 256.

2⁸ is basically multiplying 2 eight times

2 X 2 X 2 X 2 X 2 X 2 X 2 X 2

2 X 2 = 4

4 X 2 = 8

8 X 2 = 16

16 X 2 = 32

32 X 2 = 64

64 X 2 = 128

128 X 2 = 256

= 256 which is your answer

2 raised to the 8th is like `2xx2xx2xx2xx2xx2xx2xx2`

so do the one by one:

`2xx2 = 4`

`4xx2 = 8`

`8xx2 = 16`

`16xx2 = 32`

`32xx2 = 64`

`64xx2 = 128`

`128xx2 =256`

so `2^8 = 256`

2^8=

2 * 2 * 2 * 2 * 2 * 2 * 2 * 2 =

2 * 2 = 4

4 * 2 = 8

8 * 2 = 16

16 * 2 = 32

32 * 2 = 64

64 * 2 = 128

128 * 2 = 256
