Hi - think about how you would read this number. Lots of people would say "point zero eight" but the proper way is "eight hundredths" since the 8 is in the hundredths position.

So you just write`8/100` and reduce! `4/50=2/25`

I hope this helps - keep up the good math!

0.08 = 8/100

Dividing both numerator and denominator by 4 we get

0.08 = 8/100 = 2/25 --> simplest fraction

0.08 is the same s 8/100

you can divide both top and bottom by 2 giving you

4/50, which can also be divided by 2 again

2/25

which cannot be simplified further

.08

Remember that decimals are just a way to write fractions.

.1 is one-tenth or 1/10

.01 is one-hundredth or 1/100

Logic follows that .08 is eight-hundredths or 8/100

From there know that we can simplify down to 2/25 by dividing both the numerator and denominator by 4

.08 = 8% = 8/(100)

8/(100) both 8 and 100 can be divided by 4 at the highest

`8/(100)-: 4/4 ` `= 2/(25)`

so `.08= 2/(25)`

8/100=4/50=2/25

0.08 is the same as `8/100`

``

this can also be written as `4/50`

`2/25`
