Find `98 + (-6) + (-45)` .

In order to add to integers with opposite signs, subtract their absolute values and use the sign of the larger absolute value.

`|98| - |-6| = 92` Its positive since 98 is larger.

Second,  `|92| - |-45| = 47`

The solution is 47.

To do the following addition

`98+ -6+ -45`

you need to take into account the rule of signs that says:

`+ and +` give `+`

`+ and -` give `-`

`- and +` give `-`

`- and -` give `+`

(two identical signs are equivalent to a single `+` , two opposite signs are equivalent to a single  `-` )

Also any unsigned number shown is equivalent to a positive number.

Thus the above addition becomes

`98+ -6+ -45 =(+)98-6-45 =(+)47`

Thus the answer is `98+ -6+ -45 =47`
