I usually do go shopping on weekends.  Usually it's because I need to, but sometimes it's because friends come over and we do that to hang out.  I much prefer to sit down for hours on end with a good book and a cat to stroke.  That's my ideal weekend!

I would pick staying home and reading a book anytime. My family and my home is my refuge, and this is where I unwind. My dream would be as poster 6 mentioned to retire and move to the Gatlingburg/Pigeon Forge area.

If those are the only choices I would choose sitting at home. At least then I can enjoy time with my family. I would rather be doing something outside. My dream is to retire to the Smoky Mountains area. Then I could spend my weekends in the mountains.

Shopping.  After working all week, being able to get out freely and purchase even a little something frivolous is reward for the quotidian efforts.  In a small community, shopping often affords the occasion of encountering old acquaintances and getting to talk with them about those universal problems that bother us, catch up with their lives, etc.

Walking around the larger malls is also fun as there are always Dickensian characters to see, to say the least....new shops to investigate, new colors and fashions to investigate, a tasty lunch, a good chance there is quality chocolate somewhere nearby....some java and relaxation and reading at the coffee shop before heading home.

I would prefer other options if I might be allowed to have them.  However, if those are my options, I will choose sitting at home and watching TV.

If I am watching TV, at least I can do something else at the same time.  I could read a book or do a jigsaw puzzle or something even if there is nothing particularly good to watch on the TV.

But shopping is not really all that interesting to me.  I do not like to spend money and so shopping does not appeal to me.

So I don't really want to do either of these on a weekend, but I'll take sitting at home over shopping.

On the weekend I prefer to just chill around the house and catch up on some sleep. Also I love to pick up a book if I have the time instead of shoving more studying into my brain. I always deem the weekend my safe days where I do little to none of my studying. I try and utilize the week days for that the most unless I have a test that Monday and I do not feel prepared is the only time I will study on the weekend haha.

Is this for a homework assignment?

I would prefer to ride down back roads on the Harley with my husband, but, since that is not a choice, I'll take the popular sitting home and watching TV.  Shopping is pointless unless you need something.  Of course, watching TV is pointless most of the time, too.

If those are my only choices, then I would choose sitting at home. I can read any one of my books that I haven't read yet, and I actually could still watch TV with a remote control, so maybe sitting at home and watching TV might be one in the same thing nowadays. People sometimes turn on the TV for a light, since their room lights are too bright and too powerful.

Sitting at home can still provide many things to do as you don;t have to go out to dinner nowadays and can simply pick up the phone and order from any number of places that deliver.

Watching TV is too much of a time waster, unless my favorite teams are on.
