Abraham Lincoln would be a great topic for a project that is 20% of your grade. I would definitely focus on something specific about him. His whole life, who he was as a person, growing up, his education, presidency, etc...all of that is a lot! Here are some ideas:

You could focus on his life growing up. How did he live, his family, his education...and how all of this prepared him to be who he was as president.

Another idea could be focusing on his efforts towards abolishing slavery. His ability to be such a profound leader helped achieve goals towards freedom of slaves.

Also, The Gettysburg Address would be a thought. The importance of the speech and dissecting the meaning of his words could be an interesting project and expressing why this speech has remained an important one in History.

A project focusing on his accomplishments would also provide a great look into the life of Abraham Lincoln and his importance.

Good luck to you! There is definitely a lot of possibilities here with such a great topic.
