Is the University of Pennsylvania a medical school or regular college?
The University of Pennsylvania is a regular school, and a very good school at that. According to their website, U Penn is one of the oldest schools in the country (dating back to 1740). In fact, you may have heard of one of their founders, Benjamin Franklin. According to the university's website, "The University of Pennsylvania remains an eminent, world-class institution for the creation and dissemination of knowledge, serving as a model for colleges and universities throughout the world."
The Perelman School of Medicine is the name of University of Pennsylvania's Medical School (most colleges and universities name their individual schools after donors or alumni). Found in 1765, it is also one of the country's oldest medical schools. It consistently ranks among US News and Reports top five medical schools.
