Though there might be progress made on some fronts, my personal feeling is one of dissatisfaction at the efforts of much of the anti-terrorism forces in the United States.
One of the most disappointing is on the domestic front where the focus is on security theater rather than real security. The TSA has an enormous budget yet the same percentage of guns and knives get on planes as they did prior to 9/11.
The domestic budget for anti-terrorism at home has swelled enormously and the populace has given up some freedoms but the country is not significantly safer than it was prior to all these extra efforts and expenses. And the current trend towards less freedom and more surveillance and more suspicion is not one that will lead to less terrorism.
