Well, he was killed. He also suffered quite a bit before he was killed. His wife killed herself. He saw his supporters leaving him and defecting. The woods came calling. Yet who can say he got what he deserved? He got death, but did he deserve more suffering?
You will need to consider what Macbeth gained and lost. He had the crown for a time, butknew it would not remain with his family. He lost his wife, his best friend, his beloved monarch, his position and his life. However, he was instrumental in his own destruction.
