A toy train is traveling along a circular track at a constant speed. The acceleration of the train is found to be 8.0m/s^2. If the radius of the track is 0.5m, what is the speed of the train? answer in units of m/s

Centripetal Acceleration is given by a = v^2 / r, where a is acceleration, v is velocity, and r is the radius.  Rearranging terms:

1.) v = sqrt(ra)

2.) v = sqrt( [0.5 m * 8.0 m/sec^2] )

3.) v = sqrt( 4.0 m^2/sec^2 )

4.) v = 2.0 m/sec
