I am writing a paper on the play "Antigone" by Sophocles for my Eng Comp class. I wanted to write about the choices and consequences and I am looking for a good title for the essay, and also if anybody has any suggestions I could use for my paper.
The idea of standing for what you think is right versus what someone else thinks is right versus what actually IS right is one of the compelling themes of this play. With that in mind, how about "He says, She Says." Seems a little light-hearted for a matter which has such serious consequences, but it is the crux of the argument.
Here are a few suggestions:
The Laws of Men vs. the Laws of the Gods
Save Your Soul, or Save Your Skin?
Creon's Confused Young Family
The title of your paper could be what you just stated was your topic "Choices and Consequences." Depending on the parameters of your assignment, I think it would be interesting to consider a choice and consequence for EACH character in the play and then look at who is satisfied with the consequences of their actions and who isn't. That might allow for a more interesting thesis/conclusion than just the more obvious point that all actions have consequences. Good luck!
