Is there another name or a more common name for methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus (MRSA)?

People will often refer to it as just "mersa" so they use a slightly different version than the acronym, but that is the only other thing that I have heard it called.

According to the wikipedia article, it can also be reffered to as multiple drug resistant staphylloccocus aureas or oxacillin-resistant staphylloccocus aureas or ORSA.  But both of those are quite a mouthful so I don't imagine that anyone runs around trying to call it by those names unless the technical name is called for.

So I think most of the time calling it "mersa" will get the job done.
