Clearly what this question is asking you to do is to undertake some private research into an excellent example of a transnational business and relate that research and what you discover to your own learning and issues that you have studied. This is a great opportunity for you to show ownership of your own learning and an ability to apply it to a case outside of what your teacher has used to instruct you. In particular, it seems that this question has a very international focus, so you might want to think about how Tescos is a company that is operating more and more in South America and Asia now rather than just in Europe.

Tesco has learned the lesson of examining its target market very carefully  before acting on its international expansion plans. When English Tesco expanded in to Ireland, the venture wasn't successful as Irish shoppers did not want to buy the English goods offered. Before acting on expansion to the United States, careful market study revealed preference for near-by stores with fresh foods.

Tesco seems to be an interesting company. From what I can tell, they are kind of like amazon.com in that they sell just about everything. They sell groceries and electronics. You might try researching when they started diversifying and whether or not the strategy has bee successful.
